Our Mission
To increase health financing that strengthens community and public health systems, enabling them to efficiently combat diseases, pandemics, and climate-related illnesses worldwide.
ICHFA was conceived in 2021 by a coalition of about 100 civil society, individuals, county representatives, media and private health financing advocates, during the Joint Learning Agenda trainings in Kenya, that were originally funded by GFF, supported by the World Bank, WHO, The Global Fund, UHC2030, GAVI, GfAN, Partnership for Maternal
ICHFA was conceived in 2021 by a coalition of about 100 civil society, individuals, county representatives, media and private health financing advocates, during the Joint Learning Agenda trainings in Kenya, that were originally funded by GFF, supported by the World Bank, WHO, The Global Fund, UHC2030, GAVI, GfAN, Partnership for Maternal and Child Health, WACI Health and Globesolute Corporation. Since the launch in March 2024, membership has expanded to private sector, government agencies, anticorruption authorities, judicial officers, legislators, international partners and others.

The ICHFA has since grown to over 30,000 members from all sectors, present in over 25 countries by the first quarter of 2024. The ICHFA was officially launched on March 26, 2024, at the Villa Rosa Kempinski Hotel. The Inaugural speech was delivered by Ambassador Michael Oyugi, prior to an official speech by Hon. Simplex Banda, the Minister for Finance, Republic of Malawi. Other organizations represented were the United Nations Joint Program on AIDS (UNAIDS), the African Union, The Global Fund to fight AIDS, TB and malaria, Southern African Development Community, and numerous CSOs and private sector entities from across Africa, Europe and the Americas.
We are passionate, affected and dedicated individuals and organizations committed to making a difference. From our volunteers to our staff members, everyone at the coalition shares a common goal of advocating "More Money for Health"; "More Health for the Money"; "Equity and Social Protection" and "Engaging Leadership and Governance of the Health Financing agenda."
